BeskrivelseThe camp of Bliss on Mount Zion.jpg |
עברית: מחנה החפירה הארכאולוגית של פרדריק בליס ודיק בהר ציון בירושלים בשנת 1897
English: The camp of F J Bliss and A C Dickie on the slopes of Mount Zion, Jerusalem.
This print was made from a negative taken by Rev A E Beckton at the camp used by F J Bliss and A C Dickie on Mount Zion in Jerusalem during their excavations there between 1894 and 1897. The photograph shows four tents in between the olive trees. On the right a figure can be seen standing next to one of the tents and this might be either Bliss or Dickie. On the back of the print in pencil: "Dr Bliss' Camp outside the walls". This photograph was published in Bliss and Dickie, "Excavations at Jerusalem" (PEF:London, 1898), page 352. |
