John Bangsund (født 21. april 1939 i Australia, død 22. august 2020)[1] var en australsk science fiction-entusiast og -kritiker i 1960- , 1970- og 1980-årene.
Biografi
Bangsund var medgrunnlegger av ANZAPA, Australian and New Zealand Amateur Press Association og redaktør av Victorian Society of Editors in Australia i mange år. Han ble selv livsvarig æresmedlem av denne foreningen[2]). Hans Australian Science Fiction Review (ASFR) bidro til populariteten rundt science fiction i Australia i 1960-årene og fremover.[3]
Bangsund formulerte uttrykket Muphry's law,[4] som fastslår at «if you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written»[5] (hvis du skriver noe som kritiserer redaksjons- eller korrekturarbeidr, vil det være noe som er feil i det du selv har skrevet).
Den 22. august 2020 døde han av covid-19, i en alder av 81 år.[6][7]
