Tits received the [[Wolf Prize in Mathematics]] in 1993, the [[Cantor Medal]] from the [[Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung]] (German Mathematical Society) in [[1996]], and the German distinction "[[Pour le Mérite]]".
